Karrin Allyson will open a week of scintillating concerts at The Seasons 2011 Fall Festival in a gala concert on Saturday, October 8. Karrin has appeared in Yakima before at The Seasons with her jazz band, and, in 2008, with the Yakima Symphony Orchestra. She, and members of her band, including Jeff Johnson, Todd Strait, Marc Seales, and Warren Rand will be members of The Seasons Jazz Faculty in residence this year.
We welcome her back! One of the best jazz singers in the US and internationally, Karrin has already garnered 3 Grammy nominations in her budding career, and appears to be in the hunt for a Grammy again this year with her latest album “Round Midnight.“
Karrin recently appeared in the KPLU (Tacoma) studio for an interview and performance. Go HERE to view…
The Kermes Fiesta is a free family friendly event until 8PM. Come with the whole family and enjoy live entertainment, food, kids activities, shopping, and free back to school supplies with a mexican style carnival atmosphere. Some activities include the Yakima Bears Batting Cage and a US Army football toss. Plenty of freebies are to be had as well. Bicycle helmets for kids, free backpacks for the new school year, and school supplies will all be offered for the youth.
Starting at 8PM The Seasons Performance Hall is bringing back Salsa In The Streets. We will have a live Salsa Band playing, a beer and wine garden to loosen the nerves, Salsa workshops, and lessons for newcomers. Entry to this event is free until 8PM and only $10 after.
Salsa In The Streets & Kermes Fiesta is presented by The Seasons and La Casa Hogar from 4PM-12AM.
