Ben­jamin Barg is a Yakima native who is cur­rently study­ing com­puter sci­ence at Colum­bia Uni­ver­sity in New York City. At school, he stud­ies jazz with pianist Ben Waltzer and Spokane-native trum­peter Don Sick­ler. While in Yakima, Ben attended Davis High School and Yakima Val­ley Com­mu­nity Col­lege, play­ing in the Jazz Choir and Salsa Band at the respec­tive insti­tu­tions. He was also a co-winner of Yakima’s Got Tal­ent in 2010. Ben has per­formed through­out the Yakima area and in New York, high­lighted by a quar­tet per­for­mance at the Sea­sons two years ago. He sin­cerely hopes that you enjoy his music, and encour­ages you to expe­ri­ence in any man­ner you see fit.

Matt Larsen grew up in Rich­land, WA where he began play­ing drums from an early age under the guid­ance of his father, also a jazz drum­mer.  After high school, Matt played drums in the Colum­bia Basin Col­lege Jazz Ensem­ble for two years while earn­ing his AA degree.  In 2007 he trans­ferred to Cen­tral Wash­ing­ton Uni­ver­sity and imme­di­ately audi­tioned into CWU’s Jazz Band 1, one of the northwest’s pre­mier col­le­giate jazz bands.  While com­plet­ing his degree in Music Edu­ca­tion, Matt per­formed all over the North­west and Cal­i­for­nia with the jazz band and also per­formed in top com­bos and for grad­u­ate and fac­ulty jazz recitals.   Matt began play­ing gigs at winer­ies and restau­rants towards the end of high school and attrib­utes his high level of musi­cal­ity, groove and style to a myr­iad of expe­ri­ences, both in and out of school.  Now a music teacher in the Pasco School Dis­trict, Matt con­tin­ues to stay very active in the jazz scene as a side­man and bandleader.
