Melodic Grooves/Fiasco Reunion Show w/special guests Stonefly and the True Spokes
After more than 10 years, local favorites, Melodic Grooves/Fiasco are performing a one-time Reunion Performance here at the Seasons on February 8th. Another blast from the past, Stonefly, will be joining Melodic Grooves on stage as well. Pivotal to Yakima’s music scene of the late 90’s, both of these groups played at numerous venues in town including, The Zone, The New View, Grants Pub and Alehouse, YVCC, the Selah Civic Center, and more. Founders of the infamous 5 bands for $5, Melodic Grooves were instrumental in creating a music scene that has only recently has re-emerged in the valley.
After playing to a sold out crowd here at the Seasons in 2012, brainchild of this project, Selah native Aaron Daniel, decided to bring back the group for one special performance. Aaron himself has had a busy 2012. Playing sold out shows in Seattle and even playing overseas, his act “Aaron Daniel One Man Banned” has been getting rave reviews for his use of looping and mad beats. Daniel has supported acts such as Foo Fighters, Red Hot Chili Peppers, and season 1 of The Voice finalist and local favorite Vicci Martinez.
As well as Melodic Grooves/Fiasco, Aaron Daniel’s One Man Banned, and Stonefly, the True Spokes will also grace the stage.
The True Spokes (formerly FloMotion) make their way back to Central Washington, after headlining last year’s Chinook Music Festival. The founders of Summer Meltdown last played The Seasons in 2011 when they were the after hours band for the Crooked Christmas Extravaganza. Be prepared to get your groove on as well as once they starting playing, it’s hard not to dance.
