JUST ANNOUNCED! Wes Maples Trio, July 19; Cobrahawk Kickstarter July 23

Cobrahawk to Play Kickstarter Online Concert July 23; Wes Maples Trio added to the bill for the Andre Feriante Gypsy Strings Online Concert

As the story and proof that The Seasons Performance Hall is providing a unique livestream concert format for the Central Washington region, new artists are coming forward to be added to the calendar of shows this summer. Two fast-emerging additions are a jazz set by The Wes Maples Trio added to the Andre Feriante Gypsy Strings Concert next Sunday, July 19; and regional rocker favorites, Cobrahawk's Kickstarter Campaign for their newest album: Excuses Excuses, just added to The Seasons Calendar for Thursday July 23.

The Maples Trio is being added as a more informal "after-party" after the concert by the always-intriguing Feriante. The Cobrahawk date was added to the calendar as their Kickstarter Campaign is winding down to the closing date, and the band needs to goose their final tally in order to meet their stated goals.

The Seasons Livestream Project is learning valuable lessons as we put together these programs. One that has implications for the format as well as for musicians with local roots is that television viewing has a program expectancy in roughly hour-long chunks. For this reason, we are planning, where possible, to keep the headliner portion of our Live-streams to a compact 75 minutes or less of music. This leaves room for a less formal "after-party" performance (about 30 - 40 minutes) by bands with local roots to give them exposure, to satisfy their local fans, and to extend the online experience for enthusiastic audience members. With less formality and a different kind of music than the headline concert, these after-concerts will offer a significant change of pace. Because the live-stream crew and Seasons staff is already assembled, this addition can be made at a cost far less than if a local group was trying to mount a one-off livestream. We hope this policy will please both our audiences with its variety, as well as give local musicians a chance to show their chops.

That's a long way of saying, we are likely to experiment with adding additional bands and performers for short sets as part of our overall concert format. In the parlance of promoters, this is usually called an "opener." For our livestreams, it's the same concept, except in this case the "opener" comes after the headliner: a post-concert opener, if you will!
